The Jersey Turnpike is No Match for the Roadster

After a large coffee at the Dunkin' Donuts on the corner of Boulevard and Main in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, I was ready for anything. When the Tesla Roadster (cue the archangels) pulled into the DD parking lot, though, I could barely contain myself. The car's presence was immediately felt.  The other drivers on the road hit the breaks, turning their heads in awe.

Apart from being behind the wheel of a Roadster with 1.5 drivetrain, this was not going to be your ordinary test drive. The night before temperatures dipped down into the low 30s, flurries were in the air, and maple leaves covered the neighborhood roads.

The conditions were perfect!

Another Tesla Crash!

In a scene that brings tears to the eyes of EV-enthusiasts, another Tesla has bit the dust. It's demise, however, may prove to skeptics just how safe an extremely lightweight electric car can be.

In this case, a sales director on a demonstration drive in southern France took the car into a turn at 100 miles per hour. The road was wet, visibility was poor, and now the Electric Blue beauty is headlining wreckedexotics.com.

Rendered Speculation: R&T takes a guess at Tesla's Model S

Road and Track has taken an early speculative look at what Tesla's Model S sedan may look like. Of course, it's impossible to know for sure how close this rendering may be to the real thing, but it's always fun to guess, right? We can see some clear inspiration taken from the company's first effort, the Tesla Roadster, along with a hint of Nissan GT-R in its flanks. We know for sure that the rear of the car will feature a deeply sloping hatchback, like the Porsche Panamera, and R&T's artists seem to have that feature down, as well.
